Soft Corals
A GREAT place to start your very own REEF!
Soft Corals range from mushrooms
& zoanthids to xenia & leathers and many others in between. They are a great way to enjoy your new saltwater tank overnight while learning all about your new hobby. Soft corals are typically less particular about
lighting and often water quality is not as much of a concern for many "softies".
Many tank owners have gained the
confidence needed to venture into the more difficult corals by starting with an
array of soft corals. They are typically thought of as those corals
which do not have a calcium based or hard, stony type of body. The order
of Corallimorpharia and the order Zoanthidia are perfect examples of soft
corals.
Below are a few photos of some of
the most common soft corals.
